Using the service
Blackout VPN gives you a private tunnel and a key. What you do inside that tunnel is 100 percent your business. We do not watch, log, filter, or judge.
One key, one device at a time
Sharing knocks people offline. Do not share. Need more devices? We will give you up to five keys per plan.
Service description and limitations
Blackout VPN provides a private encrypted tunnel to our servers. The service masks your IP address and encrypts your traffic. We do not guarantee 100 percent uptime. Maintenance, routing changes, and upstream provider issues can cause interruptions. Privacy and security always take priority over uptime. No VPN can guarantee complete anonymity or protection against all threats.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Blackout VPN to:
- Attack, disrupt, or interfere with our infrastructure or networks
- Send malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Conduct illegal activity or violate local, national, or international laws
- Harass, threaten, or abuse any person or organization
- Infringe intellectual property rights
- Transmit spam, phishing, or fraudulent content
- Bypass security measures on any system
You are solely responsible for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws. Blackout VPN does not condone or facilitate illegal activity. We built this service with no monitoring so users can have genuine privacy, not to enable harm.
Monitoring and enforcement
We do not monitor traffic or activity inside the VPN tunnel. We cannot see what you are doing and we do not want to. However, we monitor our infrastructure for abuse. If a key is being used to attack our systems (DDoS, brute force, port scanning, etc.), we will revoke that key immediately to protect the network and other users. This is the only circumstance where we intervene.
Termination of service
We may terminate or suspend your access if we detect abuse of our infrastructure as described above. You may cancel your service at any time by not renewing your subscription. Upon cancellation, you lose access to all keys and future support. We do not store keys or link them to accounts, so we cannot restore cancelled access.
Your data and account closure
We do not maintain user accounts or personal profiles. Keys are issued directly and are not linked to identifying information. If you wish to confirm what data we hold, contact us at hide@blackoutvpn.au. Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to delete except your payment metadata, which we retain for seven years under Australian tax law.
Refunds
Key does not work? We will reissue or refund instantly. Lost your key? No refund. We have no way to verify ownership by design. For additional refund terms, see our Refund Policy.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS-IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ABOUT THE SERVICE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL ACHIEVE ANY PARTICULAR OUTCOME.
Limitation of liability
We give you a private and functional VPN tunnel as described. We are not liable for any loss, damage, consequence, or fallout from how you use the service or from any failure of the service. You take full responsibility for your actions while using Blackout VPN. This includes but is not limited to: loss of data, loss of revenue, business interruption, or indirect damages.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Blackout VPN and its operators from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your use of the service or your violation of these terms.
Export compliance
Blackout VPN uses encryption technology subject to export control laws. If you access this service from a jurisdiction with export restrictions on cryptography, you are responsible for complying with those laws.
Age requirement and eligibility
Blackout VPN is intended for users aged 13 and over. By using the service you confirm you are at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and you are legally able to enter into this agreement.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. Major changes will be posted here and reflected in the app with notice. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with changes, you may cancel your subscription.
Entire agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and Blackout VPN regarding the service.
